美国会两党议员提“香港制裁法案” 点名制裁49香港法官及律政官员
美国国会两党议员周四（2日）共同提出关于制裁香港官员的法案（The Hong Kong Sanctions Act）。首次在法案内点名多名《港区国安法》法官和检控官。该份建议制裁名单上的49人，包括香港律政司司长林定国、高等法院国安法官杜丽冰、区域法院国安法官陈广池、区域法院国安法官郭伟健、律政司刑事检控专员杨美琪，以致政府外聘检控官吴美华等。
RFA报道，美国国会两党议员提出的法案要求美国政府在法案通过后180日内，根据《香港人与民主法》和《马格尼茨基法案》，向相关人士实施制裁。根据规定，如果白宫没有这样做，就必须作出解释。
推动这法案的共和党国会议员Young Kim表示，法案可以采取“强力而决断行动，支持热爱自由的香港人，并且可以令侵犯人权的官员负上责任。”
共同提出这法案的，还有共和党众议员Jim McGovern、民主党众议员John Curtis、民主党参议员Jeff Merkley，与及共和党参议员Dan Sullivan。

今年5月，美国国会及行政当局中国委员会（CECC）发表报告，并就香港问题举行听证会，委员会主席Chris Smith促请美国政府制裁29名有损香港法治的法官。当时中国外交部驻港特派员公署、港府发声明回应，表示强烈谴责和坚决反对。
