美國會兩黨議員提「香港制裁法案」 點名制裁49香港法官及律政官員
美國國會兩黨議員周四（2日）共同提出關於制裁香港官員的法案（The Hong Kong Sanctions Act）。首次在法案內點名多名《港區國安法》法官和檢控官。該份建議制裁名單上的49人，包括香港律政司司長林定國、高等法院國安法官杜麗冰、區域法院國安法官陳廣池、區域法院國安法官郭偉健、律政司刑事檢控專員楊美琪，以致政府外聘檢控官吳美華等。
RFA報道，美國國會兩黨議員提出的法案要求美國政府在法案通過後180日內，根據《香港人與民主法》和《馬格尼茨基法案》，向相關人士實施制裁。根據規定，如果白宮沒有這樣做，就必須作出解釋。
推動這法案的共和黨國會議員Young Kim表示，法案可以採取「強力而決斷行動，支持熱愛自由的香港人，並且可以令侵犯人權的官員負上責任。」
共同提出這法案的，還有共和黨眾議員Jim McGovern、民主黨眾議員John Curtis、民主黨參議員Jeff Merkley，與及共和黨參議員Dan Sullivan。

今年5月，美國國會及行政當局中國委員會（CECC）發表報告，並就香港問題舉行聽證會，委員會主席Chris Smith促請美國政府制裁29名有損香港法治的法官。當時中國外交部駐港特派員公署、港府發聲明回應，表示強烈譴責和堅決反對。
